The Wilson Staff Fg59 iron is inspired by the original Fg17 iron, widely recognized as one of the game's most important -and beautiful- irons ever produced. "59" commemorates the 59 Major Championships earned with Wilson irons, the most by any brand in the game. Though the inspiration came from a classic design, the performance remains intact. PGA Tour professional and Wilson Staff player DJ Trahan play-tested a prototype set in late 2007 and immediately put them into his bag. Since his switch, DJ has earned a victory at the 2008 Bob Hope Classic as well as numerous top 10 finishes, including a strong 4th place finish at the 2008 US Open. 59 to 61 Major Championships..
